Biography of Kristina Jordan
Kristina Rachelle Jordan was born on March 19, 1997 to Cheryl Hayes and Kenneth A. Jordan. Kristina was born with Sickle Cell Anemia, chronic blood disorder which often caused her severe pain. However, Kristina continued to live her life to the fullest. She was a cheerleader during her elementary years and played in the Fox Elementary, Middle and High School band. She loved to draw, take pictures, go to the mall, text friends and collect anything with Hello Kitty logo.
Kristina excelled in her academics. Though she often missed school due to pain, she continued to be a honor roll student. She valued education and desired to become a doctor or work with disabled children. This was displayed many times as she volunteered to work with children with special needs.
Just as much as her life was filled with school activities , Kristina loved her church family at Zion City. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of eight and tried to represent Christ well. She was a member of the praise dance team and actively involved in the youth group. On Friday, November 23, 2012, Kristina’s battle with Sickle Cell Anemia came to an end. While at home, she peacefully went to sleep in the arms of Jesus. It was a difficult summer for her as she went through many hospital visits and indescribable pain. Through it all, she was determined to show strength and perseverance with a smile.
The family received the Gift of Life Donor medal. This medal is given for Kristina’s organ and eye tissue donations . Through her passing, she is able to improve the lives of up to fifty people.
Her strength lives on through us all as we join in the fight against sickle cell anemia.
